Adventures of a Gal

In the ongoing quest to control every hair follicle in my body, I embarked on a quest: the Brazilian wax. My only other experience with the full hair ripping experience was fairly horrific and required lots of Motrin and a frozen bag of peas to last through the night. I normally shave, but have had the random bikini wax, but they are far less…err…invasive. So, over a month ago, I decided to go native and grow myself out in preparation for round 2.

Yesterday I was feeling pretty brave and my eyebrows were beginning to look rather wolfy, so I made an appointment at my salon. I had my usual waxing gal, so I felt pretty comfortable, but having someone down there after a long day at work makes one a bit self conscious. I put on my flimsy disposable panties and lay there awaiting her return. Luckily enough, my salon boasts flat-screen televisions in the ceiling, so you are a little distracted during wax sessions. She took a look down there and said trimming was needed before the actual waxing could take place. I can handle trimming. Next was the feeling of the hot wax, mmmmmm nice! Then she proceeded to pull my hair out from the roots…OUCH!!! It was just as I’d remembered – IT FUCKING HURT! I tried to concentrate on Kelly Clarkson, but all I could do was wonder who did her muff waxing.

It took a good 20 minutes and I have to say, I was surprised. The parts that hurt the worst were the upper areas. The southern regions (you know where I’m talking about girls) actually barely hurt at all. She suggested that I come back in 4 weeks to avoid another long waxing affair. I agreed – although visions of Gillette’s danced through my head. She covered me in Aloe and moved on to my eyebrows. Relief!!! After my eyebrows were done, she put a hot towel on my newly hairless regions. It actually was nice. The walk home was a little sore, but once I arrived home, everything was back to normal, albeit a little more exposed.
